Acoustic linings can reduce the volume of sound escaping from the marquee by approximately 15 – 20db. It is further important to understand what this represents. The decibel scale is logarithmic which means that a reduction of 10db represents a 50% fall in sound level. A further 10db reduction represents a further reduction by 50%, which means that a 20db decrease is actually a drop of 75% in sound level.
