Yurts or Ger
These marquees are copied from tents used by nomadic people from as far afield as Turkey, Russia and Mongolia.
They are usually formed by a wooden frame in a lattice pattern to form the walls and bent wooden rafters (or stays) to form the roof. Many have a circular centre piece which was uncovered and used to vent smoke from the fire, now often covered with transparent PVC to let light into the structure.
Many examples have insulation and wooden doors. They are now commonly used for Glampsites as well as dwellings.

It is made in the Turkomen Style from Devonshire coppiced sweet chestnut and ash. Bought as an ex hire yurt which had only been put up only 10 or so times for weekend events.-3 wall sections, 36 roof roles, one wheel, coppiced door frame, with a high ceiling for a yurt.
